Contributing Divisions

Markey Water Services was established in Milford, PA in 1994 and for over 30 years has provided contract water/wastewater system operators to hundreds of clients throughout Pennsylvania. The firm has steadily grown and now also provides speciality water treatment engineering and leak detection services to a wide variety of clients including municipalities, private communities, care homes and others. Markey Water Services was acquired by the Claymore Group in 2023.

Cribbs and Associates, Inc. was established in 2004 and provides environmental consulting and geotechnical engineering services to clients primarily in western Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Eastern Ohio. Its fleet of drill rigs and excavation equipment allows the company to provide turnkey remediation services to developers, gas station owners,energy companies and other clients throughout the region. Cribbs and Associates, Inc. was acquired by the Claymore Group in January 2025.

Founded in 1998, Alpha Geotechnical and Testing Services, Inc. provides full-service geotechnical solutions throughout north Florida and south Georgia. They have conducted various geotechnical and environmental studies as well as materials testing activities on more than 6,000 projects to date. These services include subsurface explorations & evaluations for commercial and residential properties, environmental studies relating to property transactions, construction materials testing, and expert witness testimony in courts of law. Alpha Geotechnical was acquired by The Claymore Group in May 2025

Kevin Brien, P.E.
President & CEO
Kevin is a Professional Environmental Engineer with over 25 years of experience in the Environmental Consulting and Risk Engineering industries. Kevin holds storage tank, water and wastewater licenses in multiple states and has overall responsibility for company operations. Kevin founded The Claymore Group and has managed its rapid growth from start up, to a team of over 30 employees located in four offices and serving hundreds of clients nationwide.
Brian Donoghue, P.E.
Managing Member and Principal Engineer
Brian has over 18 years of experience in environmental consulting and holds professional engineering licenses in 11 states. Brian’s areas of experience include environmental due diligence, remedial investigations, site characterization, remediation, vapor intrusion investigations, subsurface investigations, and Regulatory Compliance. In his role as Principal Engineer Brian is responsible for the management of Junior staff and oversees our most complex engineering projects.
John Krinis
Vice President
John is an environmental professional with 25 years experience who has managed teams of consultants and storage tank construction groups serving clients in the petroleum marketing and real estate development sectors. John manages day-to-day construction and drilling operations.
Kurt Gildea
Vice President
Kurt, an Environmental Project Manager with more than 12 years experience, manages the Lake Ariel office and oversees all Lake and Pond treatment projects. He is responsible for designing remediation strategies, coordinating permits and making sure that all of our water projects are compliant with state and local regulations.
Gary Cribbs, P.G.
Principal Geologist
Gary has over 30 years of environmental consulting experience and specializes in environmental due diligence, and the assessment and remediation of commercial property. Gary manages our Pittsburgh office, oversees all drilling work completed by our field staff, and has managed a large number of site cleanups throughout the Northeast..
Steve Shanley, P.E.
Principal Engineer
Steve has over 50 years of experience in foundation design, sinkhole investigation and materials testing and has supported many clients in the energy industry. Steve oversees all material testing services and provides geotechnical engineering support to many developers in Florida and further afield.
Theodore Bair, P.E.
Senior Geotechnical Engineer
Theodore in a geotechnical engineer with over 10 years of industry experience. He has managed a wide variety of complex geotechnical projects for clients including the Department of Transportation, Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority, Philadelphia and LaGuardia Airports, Short-line Railroads and the Army Corps of Engineers.
Rich Garlitz, P.E.
Senior Environmental Engineer
Rich holds professional engineering licenses in six states along with a Licensed Remediation Specialist certification in West Virginia. During a career spanning more than 30 years, Rich has helped hundreds of clients navigate regulatory compliance, complete environmental due diligence and comply with ever-changing SPCC and stormwater requirements.
